Learn about native plants and help beautify the Oregon Tech native garden with volunteers from Oregon Tech Natural Sciences Department on Saturday, April 24th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This event commemorates Earth Day and Oregon Native Plant Appreciation Week and will provide education to participants on concepts of native gardens, xeriscapes, dangers of alien plants, and benefits of native plants and pollinators. Activities will include planting native plants, removing alien plants, clearing trail of weeds, and installing plant identification stakes
Funding for the project is from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Schoolyard Habitat Program, USFWS Monarch Programs, and Oregon Tech Natural Sciences Department.
Oregon Tech's native plant garden is located at the northwest corner of campus near Cornett Hall. Tools, food, and drinks are provided. Bring gloves and water bottles, if possible.
